Branch Chief, Website Development and Operations Branch

Lori is currently serving as a Branch Chief at the US Census with a total staff of 32 employees. The Branch’s mission is to support the public web site in terms of administration, development of web and mobile applications, and to provide tier two and tier three support on web authoring, and content migration.  In summary, Lori is innovative information technology developer and manager with over 35 years of hardware, software, and Information Technology management experience. Lori was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  While Lori was a child, she moved every few years with her family who Father was involved in construction as a Safety Engineer and mother was a Nurse.  She finished High School in a small town in Idaho named Shelley who’s mascot was a potato “Go Russets!”.  Lori was also helping her father run his business in the late 1970’s and worked with the 1st generation of the new Personal Computer procured to help with the company’s work.  After High School, Lori worked on a farm, retail, and in fast food and noted that these jobs was not what she wanted to do all her life and she wanted to obtain a college education.   Lori joined the US Army to obtain a new skill and to achieve her dream of a college education.  Lori served and did achieve a double major degree in both a BS in Computer Science and a BS Information Management Systems, and a minor in Mathematics all while serving in the Military.  Lori left the US Army and achieved a Master’s In Business Administration with the specialization in Global Management. Lori furthered her education by obtaining a Doctorate in Business Administration that provided her insight pertaining to the perspective of a Chief Executive Officer of an international company.

Lori has also worked in both the commercial world and even run her own business for a short time as the President and CEO of your own technology consultation company.  Some of the projects she worked on as consultant included implementation of Information Security programs to the implementation of an electronic medical records system at a hospital, rewriting of the TCP/IP protocol stack to support network level encryption, developed intelligent agents in detecting security attacks on a government system, and other like projects.  Lori’s government experience included the implementation of a major public website, development of an automatic failover system to deliver mail between two regions, applications to monitor medical doctor time across the nation, and other like projects.
